Who’s next on the blame list?

Life sucks and sometimes doesn’t make sense. You get into problems, trouble and situations you just wish you had made a different move or choice. And that’s normal. Things don’t always go right. We all fall into problems and that’s okay too. What’s not okay is our hard wired desire to always shift and/or apportion blames to people. If the problem has already been done, often, finding the source will do no good. And yet we are always focused on finding the person to blame and not solving the problem at hand.

How apportioning blames affects your life

When we do this with out lives, we start to blame people for things that happen in our lives. We say it’s because of this person, this situation or some other thing … basically anything we can shift the blame to. This very act of apportioning blame often leaves us more damaged than we think. You can get away with a feeling of relief after blaming someone for your life, your problems and how bad your life is. You may feel less guilty about the fact that you cannot find a job because you blame your parents for not putting you in school. You can blame your problems on others. But in so doing, you say that I have no power in my own life. All the power is handed over to those who hurt you. Then, you can’t do much about it, right?

Take the lead role in your life

Taking responsibility for these little things gives you the frame of mind to think in terms of solutions and not problems and their source. you are better able to create solutions to your problems because you believe it’s up to you to find them. It’s uncanny how you can find something just when you make up your mind to find it. Ask and you shall receive, right?

Know this: You are the captain of your life

Take charge of your own little actions and you can start to make those changes needed to catapult your life into impact, success and fulfillment.
